Blogging as other source of income

Working life is a bed of roses (with the thorns), I’ve been there and done that and what I can say is that each and everyone of us has to find a way to get out of this rat race. If only we could be our own boss and have a say in our life wouldn’t that be nice? Imagine you set your own rules, free from being control by someone else.

In actual fact, we think that we’re making money while working, that is so untrue. Why spend the time helping someone else to making money when you could spend the same ammount of time making those money for yourself? Blogging is very good way of making a few hundred dollars, require little investment or non at all depending on your choice of platform

Does the image on the left gives you the dejavu feeling? This is what it is like working, I’m currently working and when ever there is a mistake, I’ll get scolding, and when mistake are done by other people, I get scolding for no reason. It is really a stressfull life, that is why I’ve decided to set up this blog and make something out of it and in hope others would benefit from the blogging tips below, blogging is the only way out from this rat race. Thank You Google Adsense for giving me a chance.

Back to the main topic, why should we build somebody’s else dream? If you happen to be a shy person and MLM or direct selling is not your choice of self employment solution, then try blogging. Blogging can be fun, and it takes you about one to two hours per day, and if your topics happen to be good, chances are within one year you’ll be able to make a decent living out of blogging. There is no guarantee that you’ll be a millionaire thru blogging, but do remember that one should aim from the lowest first, and a small amount of side income would come in handy, it might be your car loan that blogging is paying for you. Below are some tips for would be bloggers:

5 HIGHLIGHTS FOR BEGINNERS

1) Maintaining Momentum - According to Technorati’s research, one blog is created every second and that’s 86,400 per day or 31,536,000 per year. That is a huge figure considering that almost half of the planet earthlings are not connected to the internet.
The blogosphere continues to double about every 5.5 months and about 13% of all blogs are updated at least weekly. The main issue is how long does a blogger blogs before giving up? A week? One month? According to Technorati, half of the new blogs become redundant after just three months.

There is a name for these blog - they’re often called splogs or blog junks. Most bloggers started out with a good intention, always with a big picture in their mind. The secret path to success is the ability to continuing blogging consistently. It doesn’t matter if no one drop any comments or someone uses harsh words banging you, the ability to maintain the momentum and chunk out interesting articles is the key to success. Most blogs takes an average of 6 months to built up the much needed momentum to leap frog one to the other stage.

2) Topics - Choosing the right topic is like choosing the right partner, if you choose the wrong topic, especially the one that you’ve got no interest in, chances are you’ll soon end up in a crossroad. I’ve come across bloggers that create blogs that target high paying keywords such as :

  • mesothelioma
  • lawyers
  • what is mesothelioma
  • peritoneal
  • mesothelioma
  • consolidate loans
  • refinancing mortgage
  • tax attorney
  • mesotheliom
  • a car accident lawyer
  • ameriquest mortgage
  • mortgage refinance

These are some of the highest paying keywords in Google Adwords or any other contextual advertising program, and certain bloggers that are in for the money tend to blog about such topics not knowing what it is all about. Sure, you can plagarize these articles from Wikipedia but for how long? You’ll get caught one day for stealing. The best topic would be something of your interest, be it music or art that has a niche market in the digital world. If you’re passionate about the topic you are blogging, chances are you will never run out of ideas, remember - maintain the momentum is the key to success.

3) Blogging Platform - There are a few blogging platform to choose from, the current market leaders are Blogger, Wordpress and MoveableType. I would say that these three platform has the lion share in the blogging world. All have their plus and minus points.

A brief guide:
4) Diversity of opportunities - Diversifing is the key to success, bloggers that seek a steady flow of income should have multiple blogs that spread accross different server and topics so as not to put all their eggs in one basket. Multiple blogs doesn’t mean one has to stick to a single contextual advertising company, recent years have withness the addition of a variety of viable advertising options for bloggers. Unlike the yer before 2005, adsense and blogads and a handfull of other are the only option available.

5) Discipline - This is a very important key element is becoming a full time blogger. To be able to make money out of blogging, one must be consistent, which means a series of discipline attitude. Blogging is not as easy as what it seems, and pusing the “publish” button doesn’t mean you’ll get the amount of audience that targeted. A good knowledge of computer/html/search engine tweak and many more is the key to success. You got to have a willing mind, the passion of learn and the ability to unlearn. Sometimes it takes more than a year for a blog to be successful, remember that if you kept on blogging, eventually you’ll succeed.

Home business opportunities

First thing you need to know before starting your own business is you must do your research! There are many great home business opportunities out there; you need to be cautious in choosing a business that is right for you. Find one that suits you best one that you have interest in because you will need to spend a lot of time on that business, and most importantly, you will need to find a business that is legitimate.

There are countless numbers of home business offers over the Internet today and majority of them will require you to pay a fee to start. Most people will choose the lower fee to start their business and end up failing due to the lack of information given. An on line business is not as easy as many advertisements say it is. You will not get rich over night and that is the truth!
Here are some good examples of how people make money on line:

Become an affiliate
Become a hosting reseller
Sell products on lineBuy/Sell on line auctions
Get paid to take surveys, read emails, surf the web
Make money with adsense

Those are only a few examples of how you can make money on line. If you want to start a home business the best advice for you is to find a system that many on line entrepreneurs are currently using, a system that is proven to work, find out what made them become successful with their home business, what methods they use that makes them thousand of dollars a month by simply purchasing their system (remember nothing good is for free) if you are clueless about how to start your own home business you will definitely need a guide. Now follow step by step instruction that is given to you, read the information carefully and remember not to give up half way because if you do you will not succeed.Another good advice for you is focus on your business and stick to one until you see results, you will fail if you try to do too many at once.

Without a guide though one may be lost in choosing the right business opportunity, with many scams circling around the Internet these days one may end up spending their money buying information that is worthless to them and they are back where they started; still looking for that one right home business.

The best part about on line business is you have more free time to do the things you want to do and you can also easily access your business anywhere in the world using the power of the Internet. Now there are two types of business opportunity one is short term and the other is long term. For example taking on line survey is consider short term the more you take time to fill out a survey the more you earn, some survey companies pay you cash and some give out rewards and prizes.

There are many resources to take free surveys on line and yes you do get paid for your opinion! Watch out for scam survey sites that require you to pay a fee to join. Now if you are looking for a long term home business you should look into starting your own website. You could sell products or information with your own domain name or you can sign up with google adsense and write your own articles on a subject you like. You can also sign up with google adwords and start advertising as an affiliate. The opportunities are endless!

Remember with most home businesses it will take at least 1-3 months before you really start seeing results but in the end it will all pay off. It’s a great feeling once you start seeing great income with your home business that is of course you have worked to get there. Don’t believe in any get rich scheme you see out there, as I have said you will not get rich over night.
Best of luck to you on starting your own home business!

A normal question you may ask before joining Adsense

FAQ for Adsense Beginner

My CTR has dropped a bunch over the past one/two/thee hours/days. Is anybody else seeing this?

Yes, but they are seeing small statistical fluctuations just like you are. With a program as large as Adsense that shows ads as targeted as they are for specific sites, there are always going to be fluctuations. If every person who posted that something was up with Adsense just because of a daily fluctuation in their stats is correct, Adsense had dropped their CTR and payouts dozens of times in the past two months.

Has Google changed the revenue sharing? My revenue/CPC has dropped dramatically over the past one/two/thee hours/days.

See the above answer. I’ve noticed that when one ‘big fish’ ups their advertising budget you can see a big fluctuation in CPCs.

I want to make the ads show up in a new window so the visitors don’t leave my site. How can I do this?

You can’t. If you want somebody to pay you for that type of advertising, please find another source. Adsense advertisers are paying for clicks to their site. If you accept their money by participating in the program you are accepting the fact that you are sending your visitors to their site. That is what they are paying you for.

How can I induce clicks? Can I put something like “Please support our sponsors” above/below the Adsense ads?

No, it’s is against the Adsense TOS. Numerous users have asked Google this exact question and judging from the response, it’s not something that is up for interpretation in any way, shape, or form. Do not induce clicks on your Adsense ads.

If you are looking for somebody to sponsor your site, please do so elsewhere. Adsense advertisers aren’t sponsoring your site, they are paying for targeted visitors to their site. If you want your users to help sponsor your site, place a donation button on your site and have them pay you, not advertisers who are paying $1.00/click for visitors interested in widgets.

When will my check arrive?

I’m not sure which day of the week your check is going to arrive but it’s about one to two months earlier than any other advertising network I have ever seen.

Is there going to be a competitor to Adsense any time soon?

It has been reported by numerous sources that Overture is planning to roll out a similar product later this fall.

Faulty click on your blogs' adsense link

Last week, I brought my laptop along to a meeting with a group of people. So, while we were hanging around, I passed my laptop to another person. She was surfing my multiple blogs and clicking on the links.

Meanwhile, I was chatting with the others. Then, something occured to me. I cut my conversation, rushed to the person using my laptop and told her, ‘WHAT EVER YOU DO, DON’T EVER CLICK ON ANY OF THE LINKS YOU SEE THAT HAS ‘Ads by Google’!”

Huh? Why not?

Because these are advertisements inserted by Google Adsense and if you clicked on those links, then, I am dead!

Really?

Yes, it is that scary. So, you need to be careful that you don’t accidentally use any of those links.

Oh well, that got her paranoid and she stopped surfing my sites altogether.

So folks, remember to make sure that everyone using your PC knows this rule. I have forbidden my nephew from touching my sites altogether. They know how grave the situation is if they should touch those links. Touch it and my income dies.

Having said that, once I got a faulty mouse that clicks on its own. The pointer has gone haywire and once, it led me to a Google Adsense advertiser’s site. I immediately wrote to Google, explained the situation and give them the link that I (or rather my screwed up mouse) had accidentally clicked. They let me off with a warning with the usual TOS - bla-bla-bla you must not click on your ads so-on and so-on.

Moral of the story : Always play clean and nice if you want to make a living online. Doing dirty tricks will not last you long and moreover, do you feel good getting money from cheating?

How you can earn money with Adsense?

From Adwords to AdSense

Google.com earns most of its revenue by allowing other website owners to advertise on their search result pages. All this is managed through a program they call Adwords.

Now you can earn a share of the revenue that Google earns from Adwords by placing these same text ads on your site. In other words, you're helping Google advertise and they pay you a percentage of what they earn.

This program is called AdSense. You can log on to www.google.com/adsense to sign up or to find out more information.

Every website owner should be involved in this. It's just too good of an opportunity to pass up. Even if your site is just for information purposes, you can still participate and make decent money with AdSense -- or at least enough to fund your website.

So if you are one of those people that don't like the idea of paying for a site, this is an excellent way to earn your money back and then some.

Even if you earned as little as $10 in a month, it would more than likely cover some or all of the costs for your web site. Perhaps you are simply looking for ways to add additional revenue to your website, then it's perfect for that situation too.

This program is getting so popular, people are creating websites just to display the ads and profit from Google's AdSense alone.

I don't usually like to use the term "easy money" because there really is no such thing. You still have to create your own website and learn how to bring in traffic in order to make good money with this program.

I certainly don't want to make it sound like you get something for doing absolutely nothing. There's no such thing.

However, I've got to say that AdSense is probably the closest you'll ever come to fast money on the Internet -- especially if you already have a website that gets a good amount of traffic.

What's even better...the program is completely free. You can also use it on multiple websites and there is no limit to the amount you can earn.

How AdSense Works?

If you go to Google.com and do a search for almost any keyword phrase, you'll notice some "Sponsored Links" that appear on the right side of the screen that are relevant to the keywords you just searched for.

Website owners pay Google to display these ads and are charged a predetermined amount every time their ad gets clicked by a web surfer. With the AdSense program, you will display these same text ads on your site just like Google and get paid for it as well.

All you do is copy and paste some provided HTML code into your pages and Voila! the ads will show up. Every time an ad is clicked on your site, you will receive a certain percentage of what Google receives from the advertiser.

Once your account reaches $100, you'll receive a check in the mail.

"Is Google Crazy?"

I know what you're probably thinking...

"What's the catch here? Why would Google just give away money advertisers are paying them?"

The answer...

Because Google is very smart.

Now that I understand how AdSense works, I can see that it's a win-win situation for everyone involved, and the bottom line benefits Google. Let me explain...

Since the advertiser's ads are now being displayed on more web sites all over the internet (instead of just Google's site), they are getting much more exposure. More exposure means more clicks and even more traffic for their site over a shorter period of time.

This is good news for Google because the more traffic the advertisers receive, the faster their advertising funds are used up.

Remember, they get charged every time their site gets a visit; and of course, it is Google's hope that they'll continue to keep funneling more money into their account for more ad exposure.

What an ingenious way for Google to increase the amount of money they earn from advertisers while building loyalty with website owners (like us) who are now getting paid to help them advertise.

Of course, I'd expect nothing less from the most popular search engine on the web.

What is AdSense?

AdSense is Google's program for placing its AdWords ads on non-Google websites such as this one.

AdSense lets website owners like you and me make money easily and fast without even selling anything. In fact you can often start earning in under 24 hours and when you get paid, it is Google that sends you a check!

AdSense is an ad serving program run by Google. Website owners can enroll in this program to enable text, image and, more recently, video advertisements on their sites. These ads are administered by Google and generate revenue on either a per-click or per-thousand-impressions basis. Google is also currently beta-testing a cost-per-action based service.

Google utilizes its search technology to serve ads based on website content, the user's geographical location, and other factors. Those wanting to advertise with Google's targeted ad system may sign up through AdWords. AdSense has become a popular method of placing advertising on a website because the ads are less intrusive than most banners, and the content of the ads is often relevant to the website.

It currently uses JavaScript code to incorporate the advertisements into a participating site. If it is included on a site which has not yet been crawled by the Mediabot, it will temporarily display advertisements for charitable causes public service announcements (PSAs). (Note that the Mediabot is a separate crawler from the Googlebot that maintains Google's search index.) known as

You don't have to run a large site or have much traffic to make money and AdSense works for small enthusiast or hobby sites as well as larger operations. A blog with a useful information will entitle you to join this program.
